Full Moon in Pisces Everything you need to know

This year’s one Full Moon in Pisces reminds us of the power of our personal magic and wholeness and the potency of using it for harmony and unity in the collective.

FULL MOON IN PISCES: Making your dreams a reality
SEPTEMBER 2 at 1:21 AM EST
Themes: purpose, vision, devotion, magic, what’s your next big dream?
“If your dream only includes you, it's too small.” - Ava Duvernay

The Sun shines bright in Virgo, which is ruled by Mercury, planet of communication, in its feminine earth form. This is the only female form in the Zodiac and she is the original #BOSSBABE with her get-it-done attitude and razor sharp analytical intelligence! Virgo is representative of the great Earth Mother- with the sign of the Virgin defined as woman whole “unto herself”. Independent, efficient and deeply connected to healing herself and others, she is also considered the hardest working sign of the zodiac. After all, she is getting ready for her Harvest- winter is not here yet but she is preparing and she likes to make plans, cover the details and generally roll up her sleeves and get sh*t done. She is knowledgeable about health, the body and the mysteries and medicine of plants.

We know Virgo is the sign of the maiden, the virgin. However, the root of the word virgin has nothing to do with being a person who has not had intercourse or is deemed sexually inexperienced. Yes, she is pure but not by patriarchal constructs. The “purity” refers to the purity of thoughts, intention, spirit. A virgin its truest sense is a woman whole in herself.

Monica Sjoo and Barbara Mor outline in their book The Great Cosmic Mother: Rediscovering the Religion of the Earth that virgins were literally ‘free women’. They were women who were ‘one in themselves’, i.e. not yet legally owned by their husbands.

In fact, the very word ‘virgin’ derives from a Latin root meaning strength, force and skill.”

This is the time of year to figure out what are the things that are keeping you from the purity, the wholeness of being whole into yourself. What are the things about you that are magnetic, strong and powerful AF? How can you harness and recognize more of this energy? How can you tap back into the wild wisdom within?

Like all Full Moons, we explore the power of polarities. Virgo and Pisces are opposite signs of devotion and magic, respectively. Pisces and Virgo serve as the rulers for the 12th and 6th houses in the natal chart. Pisces ruling the 12th house and Virgo ruling the 6th. The 12th house is the house of karmic healing, the connection to our subconscious realms of being,  our dreams, art, spirituality and ethereal planes of existence. The 6th house connects us to the earthly realm of public service and health within our physical bodies. From the physical to the metaphysical, to the earthly plane to the astral plane, this Full Moon is all about purity of intention, thoughts and action in service to the body, spirit and the collective.

Both signs are attributed to the need to be of service to the world, one is through physical service, while one is through spiritual service.
We benefit during this time of learning to combine the two in our lives at this time. Seeing where we can marry our physical and spiritual worlds in our own lives and how that affects our future selves moving forward.

On a bigger level, this full moon is tugging at our earthly and spiritual lives. With Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, in Pisces, it can’t be all be logical and organized. Or, we have to take care of our spiritual bodies as well as our physical ones. Although Virgo and Pisces can seem quite opposite at times — one button up and the other free spirited — they both balance each other out and they both want to be of service to the world.

How does your life look when you weave magic and mastery together? How do we find divinity through devotion?

First of all, let’s just get the dirty talk out of the way. The shadow of Virgo is being picky. We have all heard this tired astrology line for years. But don’t get it twisted: being picky is awesome. It’s called discernment. Virgo is a woman “whole unto herself”. Look at your life, look at your 2020 intentions. Check what is working and what is not. This is a great time to take an honest look and see what is blocking the “purity” of your potential here.

Having high standards is a prerequisite for being a priestess. This full moon will assist in releasing what is no longer serving your most sovereign self.

What’s your practice now? How do you show up for yourself? This is a good time to make a daily devotion practice. Maybe it is asking yourself: “what is my body telling me?” Callback to purity: what do I need to detox from my life, my chakras, my relationships? What are the emotions I haven’t addressed that are now manifesting in physical pain?

Good news is: we are releasing the hold on how things have been. Uranus is connected with the Sun and the Moon this year’s Full Moon in Pisces. Uranus is the planet of upheaval, revolution and is the cosmic change agent. So get ready to let go of what you need to and don’t forget to be extra gentle with yourself. Let yourself bathe in the compassionate, tender waters of the Piscean moon.

FULL MOON IN PISCES RITUAL

Full Moons are a time for integration, celebration and embodiment.

Step 1: Go within. Create sacred space, get quiet, breathe deeply. Feel into your body.

Step 2: Create awareness if there’s any resistance. Breathe into or stretch, roll your shoulders, shake it off.

Step 3: Full moon manifestation embodiment. Start by tuning into yourself, and think about your strengths. Write in I AM in as many intentions as you’d like but make one related to your personal STRENGTH (think: I am smart, I am financially independent, I am resilient). As you write, visualize each intention coming into being and how it will feel in your life to embody each intention.

Step 4: Virgo season is the time of the femme who is whole in of herself and self-contained. Write one thing each that you love about your mind, your body and your heart.

Step 5: Envision. Picture yourself expanding into the fullest, biggest, most powerful version of you. Where is this version of you headed? Where do you want to go? Let yourself be enchanted with whatever comes up.

Step 6: Practice some spiritual self-care. Go for a walk in nature, do a card spread, listen to some binaural beats, practice breathwork or tune into the energy of water with a healing ritual bath. Remember: your body is your vessel for all your manifestations to move through, take extra good care of it!
